Small Business Spotlight – Willow Window
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years, you’re familiar with the name “Willow Window.” The owners, Jonathan and Britney Norris, created the business to be an integral part of the community. Their passion for serving God, the people of the Upper Cumberland, and their employees shine through from the minute you meet them.
Jonathan, no stranger to the window business, was a young child when his father opened the original Willow Window in 1981 in Willoughby, Ohio. Fast forward more than two decades and you’ll find Jonathan and Britney prayerful, looking to the future with an entrepreneurial focus after his father sold the original business. With this passion for ownership firmly cemented, the pair decided to open a retail store on Willow south of I40 in 2013 with a sense that God had bigger plans for Willow Window and their impact on the community.
Through the years, Willow Window has seen amazing growth which has allowed them to open a stunning showroom at their current location at 310 Newman Dr, just off Willow Ave. This expansive, mind-blowing space was created with community in mind. As visitors walk up the stairs, it feels like they’re walking into a family room complete with a large 12-person dining room table. The familial feeling extends beyond showrooms and has permeated the entire feel of the business. When asked to describe the company culture of Willow Window in one word, Jonathan quickly answered “Godly” without any hesitation.
One of the things about the company that both Jonathan and Britney are proud of is that they have never had to go out and find employees. “We have always just had the right people show up and be able to find the right fit for them,” Britney said, beaming.
The pair are honored to lead the Willow Window family they have built. Jonathan also takes great joy in having his own employees as installers; something almost unheard of in the construction industry.
“Often you have service guys who come into a home and aren’t worried about making a mess or taking care of the property. We will leave your home in better condition than when we set foot inside,” He reflected, smiling.
When asked what their future plans are, Jonathan and Britney didn’t feel comfortable answering in detail but instead expressed a commitment to keeping their hearts open for God’s plan and how that fits into the community.
They are enjoying seeing their three sons Ethan (23), Cooper (14), and Buck (5) getting involved with the business and are excited to see them find their roles in Willow Window.
Jonathan and Britney Norris look forward to seeing their showroom be used as an asset for the people of Cookeville and seek to continue providing customer-first, expert service to the people of the Upper Cumberland.
