For a family struggling to make ends meet, Christmas can be met with anxiety, stress and guilt. The Cookeville Fire Department is looking to alleviate some of that burden by launching the inaugural Stuff-A-Truck holiday fundraiser. The fire department contacted schools in the city of Cookeville to help them select six families in need of some help this Christmas and in turn, the families submitted a list of things they need, things they want and things they can’t live without. They then partnered with hometown hero Jake Hoot to help raise awareness of the organization and aid in fulfilling the Christmas lists of each family. The week of Christmas, the gifts will be delivered to the families’ doorsteps by the fireman and Hoot via a bright red fire truck. To donate and bring joy to a family in need this Christmas, please find the Amazon lists HERE (select TRAVIS KING as the shipping option). If you would rather purchase locally, you can view the list to get an idea of what to purchase, and drop the gifts off at the Cookeville Fire Department Station 1. The deadline to purchase gifts is December 15th.
