Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity Names New Executive Director

UCHFH is happy to announce their newly appointed Executive Director.

Dr. Jeremy Byrd has been named the new executive director of the Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity. An Upper Cumberland native, Dr. Byrd was born in Cookeville, attended Livingston Academy and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2003. Dr. Byrd went on to Tennessee Temple then Union University where he received his Doctorate in Ministry. He is married with two children and is excited to get back to his roots.

Dr. Byrd’s background in ministry, community organizations and helping them prosper will only guide the staff, volunteers, and their donors to make the Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity thrive.

With 20 plus years of experience in communication and management in non-profit and community organizations, Dr. Byrd’s passion for education and community service along with his professional expertise will guide UCHFH on a continued path of excellence in this area and for Habitat Families.

UCHFH would also like to thank Mike Porten for his role as their Interim Executive Director. Porten has done a fine job leading the team through the sale of their building, relocating the Restore, relocating their offices, completing two builds, and helping find a permanent replacement for an Executive Director.

Porten has spent numerous years working with, volunteering and being on the UCHFH Board and will continue to be a board member.

Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity recently hosted an open house and ribbon cutting to welcome their new Executive Director and announce their new location for their administrative offices at 1546 E. Spring St, Cookeville, TN 38506.
